Snakeweed Flats
Snakeweed Flats offers a massive, fully fenced dam area for doggos that love to swim! There is a kayak available for the added benefit of the humans and dogs. The dam always maintains enough water for both humans and dogs to swim in, although the lower it gets, the muddier the edges get so bring a towel for the car! Any person/s participating in water based activities MUST wear a lifejacket.
There is plenty of opportunity and space to have a good sniffing safari and there are heaps of agility based obstacles for doggos that may not love swimming, but would rather run, climb and play hide and seek, giving them plenty of exercise opportunities in other ways. There is a toy box full of floating toys for your use in the dam, just please put as many back as you can before you leave - don't stress if you leave a few floating - my doggos will retrieve them next time they're down there! There are also toys that don't float for a good ol' game of tug or fetch!
The area is well away from the other resident dogs, cats, poultry and people that reside at Snakeweed Flats and the friendly sheep, goats and horse generally steer clear of strangers. So you and your doggo can feel safe and that their fun won't be interrupted.
The Sniff Space is fully secured with 4ft high diamond mesh rural fencing. Please keep your dog fully secured on a leash between the car parking area and entering the Sniff Space, as the rest of the property is NOT containment fenced for dogs and directly neighbours the Ross Dam Catchment area, meaning your dog can and may go missing if they are inclined to chase wildlife. We have wallabies and kangaroos in abundance on the rest of the property and these can entice a dog easily into running into the bushland and getting lost.
Once you've entered the Sniff Space at the dam however, feel free to unleash the beast and let your doggo run free and enjoy all there is to offer at Snakeweed Flats Sniff Space!
**First aid kit and lifejackets located in garden shed
All people entering the dam or using the kayak MUST wear lifejackets. NO EXCEPTIONS. There are a few lifejackets (human and dog) available in a box at the Sniff Space.
There are other animals present on the property (cats, chickens, goats, sheep, horse, other dogs, wildlife) so if your dog is not in the fenced Sniff Space, they MUST be on leash at all times or under effective control of the owner so as not to harm or be harmed by other animals on the property. This includes getting your dog from the car into the Sniff Space.
Please be aware that the Sniff Space and property neighbour the Ross Dam Catchment area, which is bushland. Although we rarely see snakes on our property, be on the look out at all times. A snake bite bandage and first aid kit will be available at the Sniff Space if you are in need. Please let the host know if you need to utilise this kit so I can replace anything that has been used.
The first aid kit and lifejackets are located in the garden shed just outside the Sniffspace. Please hang lifejackets on the fence to dry if used. There is a poo bin and fresh water bowl available for your doggos and please help yourselves to a SCHMACKO or two from the treat jar!

We had a lovely time this morning exploring Snakeweed Flats. A great space for our anxious and sometimes reactive fur baby to explore and have an adventure on his own. Thanks so much for having us.
Everything you could possibly need was already there. Perfect set up. The dog absolutely loved it.
Fergus, Wally, and Astro had the best time here!! The space is awesome and they loved swimming, running laps, and investigating the agility course. We’ll definitely be making this a regular thing :)
We took our border collie & labradoodle & they had the best time we’ve never seen them be so carefree together with ample space to run, swim & play they just looked so happy the whole time we were there they did not stop. We’re planning on coming once a month as our border collie is reactive we can’t do the usual trips off leash for risk of being approached so this is the perfect space for both our social & non social pup to have the time of their lives! We will be back for sure
I loved the opportunity to take my reactive dog here. He unfortunately had to stay with me and attached to a lond lead til we are certain he won't chase wildlife. But nonetheless he still had a blast sniffing and exploring. Even shocked me by going chest depe in water, as he's not a water dog. I'm definitely looking forward to making it a regular visit place for him and I can't wait to teach him some agility training and get him swimming the dam one day
Frankie and Tilly had the best time, we will definitely be back!
